MISSION STATEMENT

Providing news, information and
entertainment via radio broadcast,
the Ohio Telephone Reader and
Internet streaming; to the print impaired.
Providing equipment and technology to
broadcast and receive said programming
as funding permits.

OVAL Board of Trustees are volunteers
from the coverage area and serve
a two year term.

 

OUR PROGRAM

The Ohio Valley Audio Link is a
non-profit, tax-exempt organization.
OVAL, a United Way of Scioto County
Agency serves the residences of Pike
and Scioto Counties in Ohio with special
program readings of timely printed material.
Also covered are portions of Lawrence County.
Two full time professionals and nearly 100
volunteers staff OVAL.

OVAL is broadcast over a subcarrier of
Hometown Broadcasting (WNXT FM 99.3),
Portsmouth Ohio Special receivers are
distributed to people in our area that are
unable to read normal print due to visual
impairment or a physical handicap.
Listeners are able to hear local newspapers,
national magazines, books and programs
of special interest 24 hours a day.

OVAL, along with the other Radio Reading
Services in Ohio, are coordinated by
eTech|OHIO. The services in Ohio were
established through local initiative in
each community (Akron, Athens,
Bowling Green, Cambridge, Cincinnati,
Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton, Greenville,
Portsmouth, Toledo and Youngstown).
